Duurzaamheidskaart
Duurzaamheidskaart is an innovative platform that supports dozens of municipalities, water boards and provinces in the energy transition and achieving their sustainability goals. The platform is developed by MapGear in collaboration with various partners, and is based on its mapping software GeoApps.
What They Do
What started as a simple Solar Map, where citizens could look up their own address to gain insight into the potential for solar panels on their own roof, has evolved into a comprehensive platform. As the challenges around energy transition and climate adaptation became more complex, the platform was further developed and expanded with additional modules. Duurzaamheidskaart now offers not only visual tools and clear dashboards, but also in-depth analyses that help both citizens and policymakers map and compare local sustainability opportunities.
Duurzaamheidskaart Pro is specifically developed for policymakers. Through Duurzaamheidskaart Pro, policymakers gain access to advanced map viewers and dashboards, enabling them to effectively perform data analyses and generate reports. This allows them to strategically manage based on reliable data. Topics such as heat transition, home renovation, energy poverty, grid congestion and climate adaptation are covered. Thanks to this extensive information, policymakers can accurately calculate the return on investment (ROI) of measures taken and adjust where necessary.
Modules & Features
Duurzaamheidskaart integrates various modules that each address a specific aspect of energy transition and sustainability:
Zon Inzicht (Solar Insight): Designed for both citizens and policymakers, showing detailed solar energy possibilities. Duurzaamheidskaart performs annual precise solar panel detections – the Solar Monitor – for provinces like Limburg and Utrecht. This module visualizes where solar panel potential is optimally utilized, giving citizens insight via the Solar Map and enabling policymakers to make strategic choices.
Warmte Inzicht (Heat Insight): Provides insight into where sustainable ambient heat can be utilized within a municipality, including aquathermal energy and riothermia. Helps municipalities assess potential for alternative heat supply and perform detailed analyses of heat demand and supply.
Groen Inzicht (Green Insight): Municipalities use this to map existing green spaces and evaluate the effectiveness of greening strategies using the 3-30-300 rule of thumb, helping prioritize investments in green infrastructure.
Hitte Inzicht (Heat Island Insight): Provides insight into areas where heat islands occur and where extreme temperature effects are most noticeable, essential for municipalities striving for heat-resistant urban environments.
Housing Renovation & Insulation: Visualizes geodata around home sustainability, helping municipalities gain insight into energy labels, property characteristics and identify neighborhood backlogs and energy poverty.
Climate Adaptation Monitor: Provides insight into the progress of climate measures using advanced data analysis to visualize how effective initiatives are in reducing climate risks.
Asbestos Roof Map: Enables municipalities and environmental services to map asbestos-containing roof coverings, identifying risks and enabling timely interventions to ensure resident safety.
Our Collaboration
Duurzaamheidskaart leverages GeoApps platform capabilities to deliver powerful sustainability mapping applications. Built on the robust GeoApps foundation, it demonstrates how specialized applications can be developed for specific sectors while maintaining the reliability and performance of the core platform. Our collaboration enables comprehensive environmental monitoring and planning tools for energy transition projects, serving dozens of municipalities, water boards and provinces across the Netherlands.
